Galaball Edition 20 - A Royal Masquerade Ball is a masquerade ball organised by the student organisation AEGEE-Heidelberg. It's the fanciest party you will have gone to this year!

Do I need a partner?
No, you will also have fun if you come on your own!
Do I need to know how to dance?
No, but you can. We will play a variety of music, so people who want to do so can dance waltzes, disco fox, cha-cha-cha and other ballroom dances, but you can also just vibe.
What sort of music will you be playing?
The evening will be accompanied by a combination of the two amazing regional bands Delta Rock and Urban Dance Machine. They will be playing a mix of rock, charts, 80s through 2000s, and other dance-able disco staples. Additionally, we will be playing some hip-hop, RnB and house to get the party going. 🥳
Do I need to wear a mask?
The event is indeed a masquerade ball with the theme A Royal Masquerade, so we encourage you to wear a mask and/or crown-like accessory. However, this is not mandatory for entry.
What's the dress code?
You can go all-out with your wardrobe, it's a royal ball! Think ballroom gowns, tuxedo. If you don't own anything like that, that's also completely fine. Please, at the minimum, wear something at the level of a button-down shirt.
I've have never heard of AEGEE before, am I invited as well?

Who can I expect at this ball?
We will do our best to make you feel welcome at our event, no matter who you are! AEGEE strives to be an inclusive organisation. We expect our guests to be mainly students aged 18-35, many of which will come from outside of Germany. We're also cordially inviting our Alumni network as well as fans of our band(s) and the general public, so there will be an inclusive mix of age groups and backgrounds.
What's the deal with those '+ Drinks' tickets?
Until approx. one week before the event, namely 7.12. 23:59, you're able to book tickets including a beverage flat rate. With these, you will receive a special admissions wrist band (on entry) which gets you unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks all night long. No hard liquor (cocktails, shots, long drinks etc.) included.
We're not able to offer this deal after this date due to restrictions from the venue.
Is there an age restriction for this event?
Yes, unfortunately only persons 18 years or older may enter. There is no upper age limit however.

I'm an AEGEE member. Should I apply through MyAEGEE or get a ticket here?
We want as many AEGEEans as possible to gather at our ball! It will be the perfect opportunity to meet old friends and experience the magic of AEGEE-Heidelberg's famous Galaball. Our application deadline on MyAEGEE passed on the November 4 and we have filled up all of our spots. However, if we couldn't accept you or you missed the deadline, you can absolutely buy a ticket on your own here. This will let you enter the ball. It will also be possible to participate in the social programme together with the other AEGEEans even if you didn't get a spot through MyAEGEE. Details for that tba. If you're struggling with finding accommodation in Heidelberg, message us individually or through galaball@aegee-heidelberg.de, we might be able to help you out with discounts or private hosting.

We are AEGEE-Heidelberg
AEGEE-Heidelberg is one of around 140 local branches of the European non-profit student network AEGEE (Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l’Europe) which strives for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe.
Our branch was founded in 1987 and since then we have been a place which welcomes young people interested in furthering their international and especially European identity. Here in Heidelberg we currently have 45 members, mostly students, from all kinds of cultural backgrounds. We promote AEGEEan values through various local and international activities such as thematic workshops, cultural exchanges, activities for ERASMUS+ students in Heidelberg, and international events such as this ball. The Galaball has been a tradition for us since our founding and we are proud to present it this year for the 20th time.
